Countdown to Brexit

What does post-Brexit membership of the World Trade Organisation mean for Northern Ireland?

Paul Gosling looks at the potential implications for Northern Ireland of the UK's membership of the WTO as an independent member post-Brexit.

This chart - and the chart A decade of milk production: Northern Ireland - were created by The Detail to show raw milk prices (yearly average) and production from 2009 to 2018. The Northern Ireland government uses the information as evidence for assessing milk production and pricing. The data is also used by government when considering whether to lobby the EU Commission for the application of private storage aid or intervention for dairy products as provided by policy instruments within the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The data is collected monthly from a survey of raw milk purchasers operating in Northern Ireland. It relates to the value (pence per litre) of raw milk purchased from Northern Ireland farms.
